Herons Chef Set for James Beard House
IN THE NEWS: The News & Observer’s Greg Cox gives two stars to Thai restaurant Twisted Noodles (4201-112 University Drive, Durham, 489-9888, www.twistednoodles.com) and notes that chef Phil Evans at Herons, the restaurant in the posh new Umstead Hotel in Cary, has been invited to cook a dinner at the James Beard House in New York on Sept. 25. Evans is offering a sneak peek of the dinner, a five-course tasting menu with wine pairings by Herons sommelier Steve Eudy, from Sept. 17 to 21 at the restaurant.
